HISTORY

Clifford of Vermont was founded in 1946 by Ted Clifford when he recognized the independent telephone industry needed suppliers of telephone cable and hardware. Over the years the business expanded beyond telephone companies to include public safety, commercial and residential construction, industrial applications, and the power and utility industries. The Clifford of Vermont distribution business has grown from a one-person operation to a staff of over 50 people.

TODAY

Clifford of Vermont is a national stocking distributor of many types of wire, cable, fiber optics, custom assemblies, and related supplies and equipment. We distribute products for use in a wide range of communications, control and networking applications including those that meet RUS/Rea spec. and IMSA spec. As technology has evolved, our product line has been expanded to include Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), broadband, CATV and CCTV, plus industrial control and power applications.

The hub of our distribution operation, a 50,000 square-foot facility located in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, is filled with a comprehensive cross section of wire, cable, supplies and equipment, ready to ship throughout North America and internationally. Stock orders are shipped within 24 hours with many shipping the same day. Its close proximity to major transportation routes is ideal for expediting the 17,000 orders we process annually.

The Quik-Pull® custom cable assembly facility is located in Vermont. Here we custom bundle and label building wire, electronics, coax and fiber composites to your specifications in 3-5 days. These assemblies are available in spiral, straight and staggered configurations and all products used are UL listed. Additional services include custom jacketing, shielding, tray cable, twisted pairs, marking and striping. Our extruded products include gas tracer wire, fiber optic tracer wire, drilling wire and direct burial custom jackets.
